How to carry out dog leash adaptation training for dogs

When you put a leash on your dog for the first time, most dogs are unwilling. Either they resist the dog leash, or they don't walk after wearing it. At this time, you need to master some techniques for training dogs to wear a dog leash. The following article will introduce you to several training methods.

1. Initial training

When putting a dog leash on the dog for the first time, if the dog is unwilling, don't put it on forcibly. You can first take out dog supplies, including dog harnesses, and put them in front of the dog, let the dog know that the harness and dog food are the same thing, and give him food rewards. Repeat the above steps several times to let the dog become familiar with the dog harness

2. Indoor training

In this step, you can wear the dog harness on the dog, and at the same time you took out food to reward the dog. If the dog shows resistance, you'd better squat down to comfort the dog and give him snacks as a reward. If your dog has that kind of stubborn personality, put the dog leash around his neck first, let him play casually indoors, and then train him after he gets familiar with it.

3. Outdoor training

Find an open outdoor place, let the dog wearing a dog leash walk a distance of 2 meters, then let him come over. If the dog is unwilling to come over, you can gently pull the leash and give him a snack as a reward. At this point, you can slowly pick up the dog leash and continue to walk slowly. If the dog performs well, you should reward him appropriately. Repeat this step and train for 10 minutes a day for a few days.

Please note that the dog harness should be kept loose so that the dog will not feel uncomfortable during training.
